Riley LaChance drove the lane with 14.6 seconds left in regulation and handed Vanderbilt a 66–65 lead over Northwestern thanks to a wicked layup.
Following the play Vanderbilt’s Matthew Fisher-Davis committed one of the worst blunders in recent NCAA Tournament history by committing a foul. He had to assume they were actually down in the game instead of up.
What the HELL is that?
Northwestern went on to win the contest 68–66 for their first NCAA Tournament win in school history. The Wildcats will take on Gonzaga in the second-round.
