Tony Allen Balled Out, As In Scored 22 Points, Against James Harden And The Rockets
Tony Allen is known for his defense, not his offense. Hell, Kobe Bryant even said Allen was the best defender he ever faced.
On Friday night it was Allen’s offensive efforts that helped the Grizzlies beat the Rockets 110–105 in Houston. Allen finished the night 9-of-10 from the field and led the Grizzlies in scoring with 22 points. Simply put, that does not happen, like, ever.
Here’s Allen showing us how good James Harden is at defense.
And here is what he had to say after another layup on Harden.
He says something no human may understand, but he definitely calls someone a little bitch.
Before Friday night’s show against the Rockets, Allen’s season-high was 19 points which he has put up twice this season. He was averaging less than 10 points per game heading into Friday night’s game. This was only the second time this season he has made nine shots from the field.
Allen was the story of the night, but don’t tell ESPN that. They didn’t show one of his buckets in their game recap. It’s all Harden; shocker, I know.
Oh, and hey, the Grizzlies’ record agains the Rockets this season: 2–0.
Their record against the Warriors: 2–0.
