Tiger Woods Blew A 0.00 On His Breathalyzer Test
It turns out that Tiger wasn’t intoxicated, at least not by alcohol.
Huge news came out early Monday morning that Tiger Woods was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Woods was booked into the Palm Beach County jail Monday at 7:18 a.m. ET after being arrested by police in Jupiter, Fla. He was released on his own recognizance at 10:50 a.m.
Tiger then released a statement later in the day and blamed what had happened was an ‘unexpected reaction to prescribed medications’:
“I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions,” Woods said in a statement Monday evening. “I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.”
According to the arrest records, which you can read here, Jupiter police came to Woods’s 2015 Mercedes-Benz to find Woods buckled into the driver’s seat with the car running and the brake lights on.
According to the affidavit, Woods told officers he was coming from golfing in Los Angeles, and then said he did not know where he was. He then allegedly asked the arresting officer how far from his house he was, though the officer noted that Woods was driving in the opposite direction from his house.
Woods did agree to submit to a breathalyzer test, which showed no presence of alcohol, plus a urine sample. The testing facility task report describes Woods as cooperative, though notes that his speech was “sluggish, very slurred” and that he was “extremely sleepy,” “hard to keep eyes open,” and “unable to walk alone.”
