Tiger Woods Announces He Won’t Play In The Masters And That Sucks
This sucks, big time.
Tiger Woods is very, very injured; broken if you will. There have been plenty of rumors floating around that the man can hardly get out of bed and that standing was a struggle weeks ago.
Nevertheless, the man himself has announced he will not play in The Masters next week, which really really sucks.
Here is what he had to say via his announcement on his website:
I did about everything I could to play, but my back rehabilitation didn’t allow me the time to get tournament ready,” Woods said. “I’m especially upset because it’s a special anniversary for me that’s filled with a lot of great memories. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since I won my first green jacket. “I have no timetable for my return, but I will continue my diligent effort to recover, and want to get back out there as soon as possible.
This isn’t breaking news by any means. Tiger returned to golf earlier this year, but he missed the cut in a PGA Tour even back in January then withdrew in Dubai.
With that being said, it sucks that Tiger won’t be taking to the course next week. The man own Augusta and golf is better with him playing. It doesn’t matter if he is playing at the level of a 11-year-old or world-class Tiger; golf is simply better.
Imagine a magical week where he is in contention, hell, where he makes the cut at Augusta and is in the hunt. That is what we all wanted, what he wanted but it isn’t what we’re going to get.
Let’s all hope Tiger tees it up at August at least one more time in the future.
