Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston visited third, fourth and fifth-graders at Melrose Elementary in Florida on Wednesday and said some of the dumbest and sexist junk you can imagine.

Read this garbage, via The Tampa Bay Times:

“All my young boys, stand up. The ladies, sit down,” Winston said. “But all my boys, stand up. We strong, right? We strong! We strong, right? All my boys, tell me one time: I can do anything I put my mind to. Now a lot of boys aren’t supposed to be soft-spoken. You know what I’m saying? One day y’all are going to have a very deep voice like this (in deep voice). One day, you’ll have a very, very deep voice.

“But the ladies, they’re supposed to be silent, polite, gentle. My men, my men (are) supposed to be strong. I want y’all to tell me what the third rule of life is: I can do anything I put my mind to. Scream it!"

WHAT IS THAT?

He stood in front of these children and said that the girls in the room are supposed to be silent. And what is up with him talking about boys voices and them getting deep and all? What is that even about?

Sure, Winston may have misspoken and meant to say that girls are more soft spoken than men or something along those lines, but at the end of the day that’s not really accurate and certainly isn’t a message he should be sending. I don’t care if he misspoke or not, he said girls should be silent and that is disgustingly wrong.

Several hours later Winston said he “used a poor word choice.” Yeah, no kidding.

Standing in front of a bunch of kids and sending a positive message is not rocket science. Winston could’ve kept this entire thing sweet and stereotypical telling these kids they are going to do great things one day, but instead he screwed up the situation BIG time. It should shock absolutely no one that a man that makes zero sense more often than he makes any sense whatsoever was the one that spewed this hot garbage to kids.

I’ve got this crazy idea that maybe Winston should be silent from here on out.
