Tiger Woods was arrested early Monday morning for ‘suspicion of driving under the influence’ but according to reports, he wasn’t under the influence of alcohol but rather it was an unexpected reaction of the pain medications he was taking. He blew a 0.00 on his breathalyzer test.

Jack Nicklaus, the man Woods has chased throughout his career but noted friend, offered his thoughts on the situation ahead of The Memorial Tournament in which he hosts:

Via For The Win:

“I feel bad for Tiger. Tiger is a friend. He’s been great for the game of golf. And I think he needs all our help. And we wish him well.”

“I’m a fan of Tiger’s. I’m a friend of Tiger’s. And I feel bad for him. So anyway, I think that he’s struggling. And I wish him well. I hope he gets out of it and I hope he plays golf again. He needs a lot of support from a lot of people, and I’ll be one of them.”

Nicklaus’ comments likely reflect the feelings of most and certainly all of the Tiger fans out there.

It’s a very tough situation to say the least. Woods has battled injury after injury and has had surgery after surgery over the past handful of years. The golf world has not had the real Tiger in quite sometime and that isn’t a good thing.

Golf is better with Tiger and there is no doubt about that.

Whether or not Woods ever tees it up professionally again, who knows, but he’s certainly going through some serious stuff right now that has everyone questioning what truly is going on.

We may never know the whole story, but Nicklaus’ statement ring true.
