Two nights ago we all saw Tom Brady and the Patriots pull off the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history. It was the perfect ending to a bizarre story as Brady won his fifth ring and even more sweet seeing Roger Goodell hand him the Lombardi Trophy.

The media and fans always talk about players hanging it up while on top and Brady couldn’t be more ‘on top’ of the football world; it’s impossible.

Nevertheless, the 39-year-old, despite his supermodel wife Gisele’s wishes for him to retire, isn’t ready to call it quits.

“If it was up to my wife, she would have me retire today,” Brady told Sirius XM Radio. “She told me that last night three times. And I said, ‘Too bad, babe, I’m having too much fun right now.’ You know, I feel like I can still do it. If you love what you do and you’re capable of doing it, then I might be so bored if I wasn’t going out there knowing that I could still do it. So I’m going to work hard to be ready to go, and I still plan on playing for a long time.”

Look, Brady isn’t going to be Brady forever. There is going to be a game, a stretch during the season or an injury that will show that Brady is human. It’s going to come sooner rather than later, time is undefeated, but Brady sounds like he’s going to ball out until he literally can’t ball anymore.

It would shock no one if Brady played well into his forties. The Pats will load up with no-name wideouts, he’ll throw screens and balls across the middle and will play until he literally can’t play anymore. Then his life will get really tough hanging out with his supermodel wife.
