Atlanta’s Johan Camargo Trips Over Air, Leaves Game Before The First Pitch With Injury

Has anyone found the sniper in Atlanta?

It’s happened to all of us, we’ve all been taken out by an invisible sniper while playing sports, but then again I’m going to assume everyone reading this isn’t a professional athlete.

As the Braves were taking the field to take on the Phillies on Tuesday night, second-baseman Johan Camargo attempted to bend over while jogging to scoop up some dirt and the outcome was bad, really bad.

That is a pretty wicked wipeout; his spike clearly catches in the ground and there is absolutely no forgiveness. It’s like he stepped into a trap and that foot wasn’t going anywhere until he fell to the ground.

I’ve never understood the whole grab some dirt and throw it around in your hands while playing baseball. This isn’t the Olympics, fam, you don’t need some foe-chalk to zip a ball over to first, but hey it’s a routine and players are superstitious, I get that.

Maybe next time Camargo will make it to his position however and then bend over to scoop up some dirt.

UPDATE: The Braves have reported he hyper-extended his right-knee.
