Robert Bobroczky made his high school basketball debut for SPIRE Institute in Ohio on Thursday night and as you’ll notice, the kid is gigantic.

Originally from Romania, Borbroczky moved to America after playing two years in Italy.

Gigantic as in he’s 7-foot-7, not so much in weight seeing as how he weighs only 190 pounds.

We’ve all seen extremely tall players in high school and college, but 7-foot-7 is a different kind of big. He’s actually the second tallest basketball player on the planet behind only 7-foot-8 big man Paul Sturgess formerly of the NBA D-League.

After that first second of you realizing just how tall this kid is you immediately realize just how skinny he is. Clearly he has to put on weight, and a lot of it, if he wants a legitimate basketball future beyond high school and he knows that.

I mean, just watching this kid run it almost hurts you because it looks like it’s so uncomfortable for him.

Here is what he told MaxPreps:

“I’m mostly trying to get my body stronger and better,” Bobroczky said. ”I’m eating 4,000 calories per day and want to weigh between 220–230 pounds by the end of this season. I’m also working on my speed, mobility and every part of my game.”

As you saw in the video, the kid does seem to have a jump shot. Then again it’s pretty easy to shoot over kids that can jump up and not even touch you in the face.

According to MaxPreps, he played limited minutes in an 87–51 loss to First Love Christian Academy in his debut.
